Social Events
20th Anniversary Dinner
December 6th 5-9 PM
Sword in the Scroll has been in business for 20 years. A very humble start in the basement of a church, we have grown to become one of the largest and most influential clubs in CT producing champions in multiple weapons, numerous Div 1 athletes, coaches who have moved on to teach in other clubs, and channeled thousands of dollars to students, other organizations, and families in need. In short, we’re kind of a big deal.
- We want to celebrate these accomplishments and want it to be a big event. We deserve it. Please help us celebrate this by the following:
- complete the RSVP form.
- Share a SITS memory (either in the form or via email to me or swordinthescroll@gmail.com)
- Share how you got started in SITS and why you have continued to maintain contact with us.
We’re excited to introduce something new this year: Fencing Club Social Events!
One of the best things about our club is the community that has grown around fencing. Our annual summer picnic is always a great example of that—members, families, coaches, and friends getting a chance to spend time together outside of regular practices and competitions.
We’d like to build on that throughout the year by offering regular social events where club members can have some fun, get to know one another better, and strengthen the friendships and camaraderie that make our club such a great place to fence.
Bowling at Spare Time – Vernon!

Coming November 14: Talent Show & Karaoke Night!
There’s more to our fencers than what you see on the strip! Join us at the club on Saturday, November 14 for an evening of music, comedy, hidden talents, unexpected performances, and karaoke.
Start planning your act now—or grab a friend and put together a duet or group performance. Serious talent is welcome, but certainly not required. Come perform, cheer on your clubmates, and have some fun!
More details and performance sign-ups coming soon.
Coming in January: Winter Rock Climbing Adventure!
When our college fencers return for winter break, we’re heading off the strip and onto the climbing walls!
Join us in January for a club rock-climbing trip. Beginners and experienced climbers alike are welcome, and this will be another chance to challenge ourselves, try something new, and spend time together outside the fencing club. Date to be determined.
Location: Central Rock Gym, Glastonbury Cost: $40/person
